Modern, high-quality prostheses are manufactured almost exclusively using composite materials. Composite prostheses offer wearers increased comfort due to the materials excellent light yet extremely durable properties. These advanced properties however come at a high cost, due to the complex and intensive manufacturing process.
steptics uses a patented, automated process to produce carbon fibre composites which significantly reduces the manufacturing costs, making high performance prostheses accessible to amputees worldwide.
This innovative process allows for the individual adjustment of the prostheses’ spring characteristics, while remaining affordable.
Winner Team of Strascheg Award
Based on the patented concept for manufacturing high-performance foot prostheses, Daniel and Toni were able to successfully participate with their business idea in the Strascheg Award, the ideas competition of the Munich University of Applied Sciences.

Within the start-up certificate of the Munich University of Applied Sciences the business model could be further elaborated and the first prototypes could be produced.
